This hoya comes from Papua New
Guinea and it was described in 1913. |
|
This is a fast growing hoya that
belongs to the same group, Pterostelma, as Hoya australis,
magnifica and albiflora. It's best grown on a large
support since it grows fast and this pubescent vine twines around
anything it gets hold of! The leaves are big, pubescent with some
visible veins. The size of the leaves vary from 9-15 cm long and 5-8 cm
wide. |
|
The flowers are
a little cupshaped, white
with white coronas and there is some red behind the corona. These
beautiful flowers measure almost 3 cm, produce big drops of nectar and
last about 10 days. The fragrance is sweet and very strong, almost too
strong... |
