I
first got this hoya as an unrooted cutting and since I had long
wanted it I gave it a good spot on a flower table in our dining
area, but I never should have... not with a destructive chewing Sune
in the house because when I came home one day he had it on the floor
and had chewed on it until it was beyond recognition. I was later
(in June 2011) given a new rooted cutting and this time I put it
where no cats could get to it. It grew well and it didn't take long
until I could cut it so I had two cuttings in the pot. |

At first I put
it in the window in my Hoya room in the basement, but when the
growlights were put up I guess it got too warm for it even though it
was in the window away from the growlights. It lost a few leaves now
and then. When the guest room in the basement was done in May 2012 I
moved it to that window instead. It's quite a lot cooler there
during the days than in the hoya room. It started growing a lot and
on August 12th 2012, a little more than one year after it moved in,
I found a long thin peduncle and I checked on it almost every day...
then finally the buds started opening in the evening of September
18th 2012. The whole umbel was open a few days later. A wonderful
easy to grow hoya! |
