Hoya erythrina R.E. Rintz

This hoya comes from Malaysia and it was published in 1978.

Hoya erythrina has a climbing growth. The leaves are 11-17 cm long and 3-6 cm wide. They are dark green, have wavy edges, nice visible veins and they have flecks that can get pink when grown in the sun.  The underside is often a little red. This is not a fast growing hoya and it's said to be easy to grow... The beautiful foliage makes it a hoya worth growing just for the leaves!

The flowers have yellow/dark beige corolla with a hint of brown at the tips and the corona is also yellow with the tips sort of pointing up. The flowers are reflexed and there are few flowers in each umbel. They have no fragrance and last about 4 days. A cool flower!
