Hoya 'Noelle'

Hoya 'Noelle' is a suspected cross between Hoya vitellinoides och Hoya vitellina, hybridized by Michael Miyashiro from Hawaii. This hoya seems to have been sold as Hoya cv. VitVit, but it has now been published as Hoya 'Noelle'.

The quite shiny leaves are slightly curved with lots of spots and visible veins. They are rather dark green with even darker veins and if it's grown in strong sunshine the leaves tend to turn yellow, but the veins stay green. For a while! The size of the leaves vary from 8-12 cm long and 5-7 cm wide. So far, but time will tell if this hoya will get leaves as big as they get in Hawaii. However, I doubt it will in my care...

The recurved flowers have yellow corollas and light pink coronas. The size is about 1 cm and you'll find around 20 flowers in an umbel. The fragrance is fresh with a hint of citrus, but the joy of the fragrance doesn't last long since the flowers only last a couple of days...
