Hoya obscura Elmer ex. Merr.

This hoya comes from the Philippines and it was described in 1938.

This is a compact vine with beautiful foliage. The leaves are light green with darker veins, about 7-15 cm long and 3-5 cm wide. Both leaves and flowers can get hints of red when grown in a sunny window. It's a fast grower that can flower even as a cutting!

The flowers are mainly cream coloured, but can be more salmon/pink when grown in bright light. Each flower is revolute, almost ball shaped and quite small; only about 8 mm and has a pale yellow corona. There are 30-40 flowers in each umbel that last about 6 days and the flowers have a fresh perfume like fragrance.
