I got this hoya
as a large unrooted cutting in May 2006. It arrived together with
IML 1424 and by the looks of them side by side you would never think
they are the "same" hoya! It rooted fast and even the "sad" huge
leaf perked up, but the new leaves never got that big. New leaves
are sort of red at first, but turn green as they mature. According
to the description in the sales list this hoya gets red leaves, so
I'm guessing it can take quite some sun. |
|
The leaves are
bigger than any other rigida in my collection and it has very few
spots and visible veins. They are 13-23 cm long and 9-13 cm wide.
I'll try to give my plant some fertilizer to see if it can grow
those huge leaves that it can get. |
|
The flowers will
be a surprise! I haven't found any info about them, not even in the
sales list. I'll have to get back on that when mine has bloomed...
whenever that'll be since I cut it down to a minimum when moving to
the apartment in 2008 and the little cutting I saved has grown
really slowly. |
