I bought this
hoya as a rooted cutting from Botanova in April 2005. It grew a
little, almost died, I rerooted it, it grew a little... this is all
it did for years and in the end I got tired of it and gave away the
last rooted cutting to my boyfriends aunt in Småland (about 200 km
from here). THERE it thrived and grows like crazy and gets these
huge leaves... We'll see if I ask for a cutting next time we're
there. |
|
This hoya can
get leaves that range from 10 cm long to 25 cm long and the leaf on
the second photo is 23 cm long. The leaves are about 8-10 cm wide. I
don't have any plant of my own to measure so I tell what I've heard
and read. Regardless of size, this is one gorgeous hoya with its (mostly)
dark green a little spotted leaves. |
|
The flowers are
light green with white corona with a little pink in the middle.
Lovely photos of this particular rigida can be found on the Internet
and you can also read about it in Hoya litterature. The description
I've read describes the fragrance to be like lemon, but I think I'll
go sniff the flowers of the aunts plant when it blooms and I'll be
back with my opinion... |
