This hoya comes from Thailand, just
as the name indicates and it was described in 2001. It's a rather new
hoya and there seem to be a few different clones in circulation. |
|
It seems to be a hoya that is best
grown on a support. The leaves are medium to dark green with visible lighter
veins, 6-9 cm long and 3-5 cm wide. With its lovely foliage it's a
lovely plant even without flowers. |
|
The flowers are rather big in
comparison to the size of the leaves... The corolla is white and the
corona is yellow with some red in the middle. Each flower is about 2.5 cm, flat with a tendency to cup shaped. You'll find
8-15 flowers in an umbel. The
flowers are said to last almost two weeks (mine opened on July 14th) and they produce
little or no nectar.
The fragrance is hard to describe, but the closest I can get is that
it's like citrus and a little musty at the same time without being
unpleasant... |
