This hoya comes from a wide area
from New Guinea over Australia to Polynesia and it was described in 1830.
Hoya nicholsoniae is a synonym to this hoya. |
|
This is a twining hoya which vary
both in leaves and flowers. There seem to many clones of this hoya in
circulation. Leaves are normally 10-15 cm long and 5-8 cm wide. Some
leaves have spots and some are without. Some have leaves that turn lovely
red in the sun and some have all green leaves. Leaves on some clones have
visible lighter veins. |
|
The colour of the flowers vary
from creamy white to grenish yellow/yellow and pink. The flowers are
reflexed, about 1 cm and are said to have no fragrance. Some clones
produce lots of nectar and some almost none. |
