I got this hoya
in a trade in May 2003. It was then called Hoya ridleyii, but experts
say that the hoya in circulation with that name should be "just another
Hoya verticillata". To me it looked more like one of my Hoya pottsii, but
then I'm no expert... Perhaps I don't have the "real" ridleyii...? It
grew fast at first but it had a swing of root mealies about one year
after I got it so I cut it back and rerooted it. I saved the best looking cuttings (rather long) and potted
them. They rooted fast and have now grown into a nice looking plant. Now
that it has flowered it turned out to be a pottsii... |

The leaves are
6-12 cm long and 3-6 cm wide. They get a little red in the sun and
the visible veins are lighter. It also seem that the leaves get red
spots from the sun. It's otherwise healthy so that's all I can think
of... The first flowers came in April and already there are new ones on
the way! |
|
The flowers are pale
yellow corolla, white corona with some red in the middle. The size is
about 2 cm, reflexed and you would find 25-40 flowers in an umbel. The
flowers last a little more than a week and they have a really nice
fragrance.
