Eriostemma 'Ruthie'

Eriostemma 'Ruthie' is a cross between Eriostemma 'MM' and Hoya sussuela, hybridized by Ed Gilding. This is an Eriostemma and this cross has a sister called 'Optimistic', which is the same cross but another seedling.

The smooth leaves are light to medium green, quite thick and have little curved edges. The center vein is prominent and also a little lighter green than the leaf. The size of the leaves vary between 9-12 cm long and 4-5 cm wide.

The flowers are almost flat to a little cupshaped and each flower measure about 5 cm. The corolla is yellow in the center and the lobes are red. The corona is small compared to the flower and yellow with a red center. I haven't found any information about how long the flowers last or fragrance, but the sister 'Optimistic' is said to have no fragrance, so I assume 'Ruthie' doesn't have any either. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
